Roman & Williams is a definite source of inspiration. I think Sabrina and I refer to them constantly when thinking/talking about design work. Recently, I find myself citing spaces they have created as some of my favorite in NYC, from the Ace Hotel to the bar at the Standard. I love the way their work evokes a moodiness in textures and found objects, that often pay homage to another era. They mix this vintage romanticism with a balance of contemporary and modern touches.
Above is a video originally posted on The Scout, of the principal designers Stephen Alesch and Robin Standefer speaking about their process.

Loving the studio space for Parliament in Portland. Many more inspiring photos of their office on their site.

One of my favorite fashion week shows I’ve had the chance to watch was Charlotte Ronson’s. She’s so quintessential downtown New York and her clothes exuberate youth and energy. I love this video for her Fall 2009 collection. Pure joy every time I watch.

My good friend Alexis is crazy about tea. Not only is she drinking it, she’s thinking about it, blogging about it, and oh yeah—making cups about it. I also have a photo of her dressed up as a teacup for Halloween that I will respectfully decline from posting here.
Anyway, when I saw this concept package design by Soon Mo Kang on The Dieline, I immediately thought of her. Of course, she was already all over it, but I figured I would share it on here anyway.

UK based graphic designer Si was recently awarded for typography at the Roses Advertising Awards for her ‘We’re Perfect with Cereals’ packaging. The colors and illustrative style lends itself to a retro feel which is nicely done.
